Biography
Chantal De Block, international professional Belgian sculptor.
Born in 1959 in Eeterbeek, flourishes in this world of art when she meets Robert De Sutter who will become her husband.
She creates with him a lost wax foundry where they will make bronzes for many artists.
Chantal also creates her own works and her imagination emerges two very different styles: children and naiads.
After more than 20 years of work as an art founder, they decide to devote themselves more than their personal creations
Production borrows feminine sensitivity and glaring authenticity.
The artist has managed to capture with great sincerity the breaks of his “small” girls.
She creates naive children with mimicry and multiple attitudes. His sculptures inspire a lot of gaiety and innocence.
For her second style, Chantal draws her imagination from the wonders of the sea, she works the earth and the wax from which are born creatures such as naiads or nereids in bronze with strange hats made of pearls, glass paste and other materials often enriched with natural materials, mainly seashells.
In the same spirit, she also creates luminaries that combine the sea, the earth and the light to become one.
