He spent part of his childhood in New York where he first met art and discovered watercolours. Back in Belgium as a teenager, he met graffiti during his walks around Berlin, Brussels and Antwerp with his parents. The borders of the motorways as well as the Parisian metros are real museums for him. This love at first sight led him to later survey the wasteland, railroads and abandoned warehouses to paint on walls and perfect his skills away from the glances.
Self-taught, he moves from the urban support to canvas canvas or dibond canvas, making works in which Nuage d’ Ocean Nox was clearly influenced by his experience and by the modern painting of the artists Banski, Basquiat……………..
Ocean Nox draws its inspiration from pop art classics such as Basquiat, Warhol… as well as from his daily life, what surrounds him, and the street art scene. He likes to work on lettering, revisiting portraits of personalities or objects that have left their mark on History or personal history. Over time, he develops a wide range of different styles, always combining graffiti, tag,”flows”, and above all a multitude of colors. He uses a wide range of different techniques: paint bombs, stencils, drawings, molotow, brushes, ink, and sometimes even his hands directly. He is constantly renewing his art, he likes to change techniques, change the medium… It is the visual impact and the shock of the colors that make each of his paintings more original than the others.
His work can be seen in numerous exhibitions, festivals, art fairs, public auctions and international events, and he is represented by several galleries in France and abroad.
Ocean Nox has painted on the walls of many cities: New York, Brussels, Liege, Paris, Lille, Nantes, London, Lisbon, Lisbon, Barcelona, Los Angeles, etc…..
