Biography
Born in 1964 in the Trégor (22), Réjane Le Chat lives in Brittany, in the region of Rennes (Chasné sur Illet). Self-taught artist, she has long shared her passion for sculpture with her different professions, hairdresser, hairdresser and psychologist. Since 2013 she devotes herself completely to sculpture.
“It is by the earth that I discovered sculpture in the 1990s. Since then, my interest in the work of forms by matter has constantly animated me, fascinated me and has gradually imposed itself. ”
Gradually, at the discretion of training courses and meetings, the work will evolve. Beyond forms, likelihoods or similarities, something more intimate insists and repeats itself: how to transmit, transpose or make emerge a part of the emotion, the feeling, the movement … beyond the forms and by the forms?
“The human, with its paradoxes, its emotions is my main theme of work. If I do not try to restore the accuracy of the proportions, I rely on their form as support to release impressions, feelings, postures related to the human condition.
Different materials invite me to look for my shapes. Stone, bronze, wax, earth, iron, glass, each with its constraints and possibilities opens new doors for new journeys. ”
How to approach and perhaps transmit something of this part of mystery that remains? To seek the untraceable, to touch and to be touched beyond what can be said, beyond what is given to see or to hear and there is something very small or we can really meet, do not for a brief moment
