Biography
Robert De Sutter, international professional Belgian sculptor.
Born in 1957 in Forest, son of Clément De Sutter, jeweler and lost-wax founder and grandson of the painter Ernest De Sutter. He has fallen inevitably into the world of art.
Robert spent his youth in his father’s studio where he rubbed shoulders with many artists. His passion for art was born. There is work different materials, bronze, stone, earth and wax.
Having finished his studies at the arts and crafts of Brussels in the 70s, he honed his training alongside great artists such as Rick Poot, Jeff Vanturenhout, Pierre Caille, Olivier Leloux …
He met Chantal De Block in 1977 with whom he is getting married. Together they create a lost wax foundry in which they perform the bronze works of many artists as well as theirs.
After more than 20 years as a founder, they decide to devote themselves more than their personal creations.
Stylized and refined, Robert’s characters are very sober. The bronze stretches and settles in breaks of a rare elegance where the line and the curve take an essential place, topped with shell, ostrich egg, colored ceramics that do not fail to emphasize the intrinsic beauty from his work.
